Moving the MIL

Today, my mother-in-law moved from her "house" into an apartment in a retirement/senior living community. My MIL is 81, but totally independent.  She drives her car, volunteers at the local hospital, serves in various capacities in her church, and loves her family (4 boys + wives and grandchildren) with all her heart.  She married her high school sweetheart in June, 1952 in Sioux Falls, SD after he finished at the United States Naval Academy and she completed nursing school in Minneapolis, MN.  Together, they raised four boys until 1970 when his A-7 was shot down over southern Laos during the Viet Nam war.  He was designated MIA until 1978, when he was officially declared KIA.  She raised four boys on her own, each of them completing university (One - my husband - completed the Naval Academy, like his father) and going on to successful relationships, careers, and families.  She is such an inspiration to me.

There is nothing wrong with aging, it is an adventure!  Thank you for sharing my adventure!
